(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team battled some windy conditions to post a 9-0 win over visiting McDaniel College on Wednesday afternoon. The Red Devils swept the doubles matches with identical scores of 8-2 in all three flights.
Senior Joey Frank (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Boca Raton) found his rhythm in the second set to claim a (6-4, 6-1) decision in the top singles flight.
Clark Chapman (Princeton, N.J./Montgomery) and Shawn Diniz (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) had strong showings in the second and third flight while Nick Reese (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) went (6-0, 6-2) in the fifth.
Qi Hua (Shanghai, China/St. Stephen's Episcopal) and Morten von Glan (Bremen, Germany/Altes Gymnasium Bremen) completed the sweep with straight set wins in the fourth and sixth flights, respectively.
Chapman joined Steven Kaplan (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) for the win at #1-doubles. Evan Davis (Westport, Conn./Staples) teamed with Frank in the second position and Diniz joined Samuel Loring (New York, N.Y./Blair Academy) in the third flight
The Red Devils improve to 3-5 overall and 2-1 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to Haverford College on Saturday for a 1:00 pm start.
