Men's Tennis Suffers Setback in Spring Break Opener

(Orlando, Fla.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team fell to Bethel University, 9-0, to open play in Orlando on Monday.

Derek Chen (Cranbury Twp., Pa./Cranbury Twp.) and Nick Reese (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) battled to an 8-4 setback in second doubles, and Chen fell in the second singles flight, (7-5, 6-4).

Samuel Loring (New York, N.Y./Pomfret School) and James Demakos (Summit, N.J./Summit) had strong second sets in the third and fifth flights. Demakos teamed with Qi Hua (Shanghai, China/St. Stephen's Episcopal) in the third doubles spot, falling 8-5.

The Red Devils return to action on Tuesday, facing St. Scholastica at 12:00 pm.
