Demakos Wins Second Straight in Break Finale

(Orlando, Fla.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to Berry College on Thursday afternoon.

Sophomore James Demakos (Summit, N.J./Summit) earned the Devils' lone point with his second straight singles win, surviving in three sets (2-6, 7-6, 10-8).

Junior Shawn Diniz (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) went three sets in the top singles flight, but fell in a highly competitive match, (3-6, 6-4, 11-9).

Diniz partnered with classmate Samuel Loring (New York, N.Y./Blair Academy) in the top doubles spot, playing a strong match but falling 8-5.

The Red Devils slip to 1-4 on the season. They wrap up play in Orlando and will return north to open Centennial Conference play on March 25th, hosting Johns Hopkins University at 1:00 pm.
