Box Score (St. David's, Pa.) – The #7-ranked Dickinson men's lacrosse team improved to 8-1 on the season, posting a 10-5, non-conference win at Eastern University on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils struck just 48 seconds into the game as sophomore Brodie Phillips (Charlottesville, Va./St. Anne's Belfield) fed first-year Nick Goles (Monkton, Md./Loyola Blakefield).
Alex Hosker (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) and Dylan Maher (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) put the Devils up, 3-0, with 13:14 remaining in the first quarter.
The Eagles countered with a pair of goals before Phillips put Dickinson in front, 4-2, at the first break.
A defensive second quarter saw just two goals as Deegan Beauchemin (Monroe, Conn./Newtown) and Maher stretched the margin to 6-2 at halftime.
Goles returned the favor, feeding Phillips in the opening minute of the third quarter, and Austin Helms (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Haverford) tallied to make the score, 8-2, early in the period.
The Eagles scored once in the third and added a pair in the fourth while Phillips and Beauchemin found the net for the final of 10-5.
Phillips led the attack with three goals and one assist while Maher scored twice and added an assist as well. Junior Ryan Campbell (Rumson, N.J./Rumson-Fairhaven) won 13-of-18 face-offs and collected seven ground balls on the day.
Patrick Finneran (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) caused a pair of turnovers and controlled three GBs on the day. Junior Andrew Jones (Odenton, Md./Arundel) made seven saves in the nets with Cole Pellicano (Arnold, Md./Broadneck) coming on to make a pair of saves to close out the game.
The Red Devils improve to 8-1 on the season. They return to Centennial Conference action next Saturday, returning home to host Haverford College at 12:00 pm.
