(Westminster, Md.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team posted an 8-1 win at McDaniel College on Tuesday afternoon.
The Red Devils were dominant in doubles, jumping out to a 3-0 start, surrendering just four points in the three matches.
Shawn Diniz (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) and Samuel Loring (New York, N.Y./Blair Academy) took the top flight, 8-1, while Diniz won the top singles flight in straight sets (6-3, 7-6). Loring turned in a dominant performance, taking the fourth singles flight, (6-0, 6-0).
Senior Jackson Claudio (Upper Montclair, N.J./Montclair) earned points in the second singles flight (6-1, 6-0) and teamed up with sophomore Derek Chen (Cranbury Twp., N.J./Cranbury Twp.) for an 8-1 decision in second doubles.
Qi Hua (Shanghai, China/St. Stephen's Episcopal) won the fifth singles flight (6-1, 6-2) and joined Lucas Burstein (Lincolnville, Maine/Camden Hills) for the sweep in doubles, capturing the third flight, 8-2.
The Red Devils improve to 2-8 on the season and 1-4 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to Washington College on Saturday for a 1:00 pm start.
