Box Score (Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson baseball team had a tough outing on Friday as visiting Gettysburg College split the series with a 16-1 decision at MacPhail Field.
The Red Devils jumped out to an early 1-0 lead as Robbie Thompson (Camp Hill, Pa./Camp Hill) doubled, advanced on a wild pitch and scored on a ground out.
Gettysburg answered with four runs in the top of the third, stringing together five hits in the inning.
The Bullets tacked on a pair in the fifth and erupted for eight in the seventh behind a three-run double from Logan Sneed. They closed out the game with a two-run eighth for the final tally.
J.J. Lucido went 3-for-5 with four RBIs while Connor Tom and Josh Cubell each added three hits on the day as well.
Chase Stopra went eight innings to improve to 3-0 on the hill. He scattered five hits and recorded eight strikeouts on the day.
Junior Jonathan Chudacoff (Highland Park, Ill./Berkshire School) went 2-for-3 while Thompson added his double and scored the lone run.
The Red Devils slip to 19-15 overall and 6-6 in the Centennial Conference. They are on the road tomorrow, traveling to Haverford College for a 12:30 pm double-header.
