(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team outlasted visiting Muhlenberg, 5-4, under the lights at the Hays Tennis Courts on Thursday night.
The Red Devils jumped out to a 2-1 lead, claiming the top two doubles matches. Junior Samuel Loring (New York, N.Y./Blair Academy) extending his Centennial Conference singles streak to five straight matches, posting a (6-3, 6-0) win in the third flight.
He joined classmate Shawn Diniz (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) for an 8-4 decision in number-one doubles.
Junior Nick Reese (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) earned two points as well, capturing the fourth singles flight, (6-1, 6-2), and teaming with sophomore Derek Chen (Cranbury Township, Pa./Cranbury Township) in second doubles for an 8-4 win as well.
Qi Hua (Shanghai, China/St. Stephen's Episcopal) clinched the match with a (6-3, 6-3) victory in the number six spot.
The Red Devils improve to 3-11 overall and 2-6 in the conference. They are in action again, tomorrow afternoon, hosting Gettysburg College at 4:00 pm.
