(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team trailed, 2-1, after doubles but turned in a dominant showing in singles, sweeping all six flights to turn back visiting Gettysburg College, 7-2, on Friday afternoon.
Juniors Shawn Diniz (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) and Samuel Loring (New York, N.Y./Blair Academy) earned the doubles point for the Devils with an 8-2 decision in the top flight.
The Devils won all six singles matches in straight sets, with Diniz and Loring claiming the first and third flights, respectively. Loring finished with six straight singles wins in conference play.
Derek Chen (Cranbury Township, Pa./Cranbury Township) and Nick Reese (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) won the second and third, and played to a tough, 8-6, setback in the second doubles match.
James Demakos (Summit, N.J./Summit) and Qi Hua (Shanghai, China/St. Stephen's Episcopal) earned points at number five and six, and dropped a tight match in third doubles, 8-7.
The Red Devils finish the season 4-11 overall and 3-6 in the Centennial Conference.
