(Lancaster, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team fell to Franklin & Marshall, 8-1, in Centennial Conference play on Wednesday afternoon.
Shawn Diniz (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) and Samuel Loring (New York, N.Y./Blair Academy) suffered an 8-6 setback as the Red Devils played a close match at number one doubles.
Diniz had a strong start, but dropped the top singles flight (7-5, 6-1) while Loring played well in the third, but fell (7-6, 6-3).
Junior Jackson Claudio (Upper Montclair, N.J./Montclair) earned the point for the Devils, winning the second singles flight (6-2, 4-6, 10-3).
The Diplomats, ranked 11th in the Atlantic South Region, improve to 5-4 overall and 4-0 in the Centennial Conference.
The Red Devils slip to 1-7 overall and 0-3 in the conference. They return home to host Ursinus College at 1:00 pm on Saturday.
