Box Score 2 (Orange, Calif.) – The Dickinson baseball team dropped a pair of games at Chapman University in California on Thursday afternoon, falling 6-2 and 12-1.
The Red Devils looked to rally late in the opener, scoring runs in the final two innings, but came up short. Senior Robbie Thompson (Camp Hill, Pa./Camp Hill) went 3-for-3 on the day, with an RBI and two walks.
Max Brown (Annapolis, Md./McDonogh) doubled and Alex Jacobson (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) came on to add a pinch-hit single and score a run.
Jacobson doubled in game two, moving Ben Carter (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) to third to set up and RBI single for David Farnham (Atherton, Calif./Menlo School) in the second inning.
Chapman had a big third, scoring six runs and added four in the fourth and two in the fifth to secure the win.
Jacobson and Farnham each went 2-for-3 in the nightcap while Thompson added a double.
The Red Devils slip to 3-9 on the season. They close out the week tomorrow with a double-header at Occidental College.
