Red Devil Men Capture Little Three Championship

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's track & field team captured the team title at the Little Three Championships, scoring 140 points on the day. Gettysburg was second with 135 while Franklin & Marshall was third with 106.

Senior Billy Dougherty (Mt. Lebanon, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) had a great day, winning the Rob Jansen Memorial 800 meter run, clocking a time of 2:01.27. He led the 4x800 and the 4x400 relay teams to wins as well, running the lead leg in both events.

Junior Eric Herrmann (Saint James, N.Y./Smithtown) anchored the winning 4x800 and 4x400 relays as they posted marks of 8:23.97 and 3:36.38. Herrmann added a win in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:14.31.

Sophomore Bryce Descavish (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) placed second in both the 800 and 1500 meter events, and earned gold with the 4x800 relay.

Sophomore Thomas Riordan (Campbell, S.C./Landrum) captured three gold medals on the day. He won the 400 meters with a time of 52.93 and joined the winning 4x800 and 4x400 relays. Senior Miles Lindsey (Herdon, Va./Oakton) added a win with the 4x400 relay as well.

Matthew Loalbo (Hamden, Conn./Hamden) won the 5000 meters with a time of 16:13.56 while first-year Oden Bules (Union Mills, Ind./South Central) came across second.

Michael Murphy (West Pittston, Pa./Wyoming Area) and Ryan Murphy (West Pittston, Pa./Wyoming Area) both ran to a win with the 4x100 relay. Ryan clocked a time of 23.38 to place second in the 200 meters with Michael crossing in 23.41 to take third. Ryan added a silver in the 100-meter dash with a mark of 11.43.

First-year Garrett Randall (Gwynn Oak, Md./Loyola-Blakefield) and Kenny Blessing (Carlisle, Pa./Big Spring) ran the first two legs of the 4x100 relay.

Junior Duncan Hopkins (Lancaster, Pa./JP McCaskey) won the steeplechase with a time of 10:02.20 and senior Matt Persick (West Chester, Pa./West Chester Henderson) came across third with a time of 10:07.08.

The Red Devils had some strong showings in the field events, going one-two-three in the pole vault. First-year Kacper Rzempoluch (Princeton, N.J./West Windsor Plainsboro North) won the title with a height of 4.60 meters with sophomore Adam Gamber (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) placing second and first-year Gavin Wood (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) taking third.

Senior Devin Glasson (Canton, Conn./Canton) won the discus with a throw of 43.49 meters and placed second in the shot put with a distance of 14.12 meters. Robert Pearl (Sea Ranch Lakes, Fla./Pine Crest) captured third in both the shot put and discus events.

First-year Ben Sobel (Hanover, N.H./Hanover) won the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.75 meters and Blessing added a second-place finish in the long jump, covering 5.96 meters.
