(Allentown, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's track & field team traveled to the Muhlenberg College Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils had a strong showing in the pole vault as Kacper Rzempoluch (Princeton, N.J./West Windsor Plainsboro North) captured fourth (4.55m) with Adam Gamber (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) and first-year Gavin Wood (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) placing in the top 10 in sixth and ninth.
Senior Devin Glasson (Canton, Conn./Canton) showed well in the throws, capturing second in the shot put (13.24m) and discus (45.11m), and placing fourth in the hammer throw with a distance of 43.83.
Junior Duncan Hopkins (Lancaster, Pa./JP McCaskey) and Matt Persick (West Chester, Pa./West Chester Henderson) crossed the line third and sixth in the 3000-meter steeplechase, clocking times of 10:28.81 and 10:34.77, respectively.
First-year Kenny Blessing (Carlisle, Pa./Big Spring) led a strong contingent in the 100 meter dash, placing eighth with four Red Devils finishing in the top 12.
Junior Eric Herrmann (Saint James, N.Y./Smithtown) won the 1500 meters with a time of 3:56.54. Senior Billy Dougherty (Mt. Lebanon, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) ran to seventh with a mark of 4:08.10. Herrmann claimed silver in 800 meters, posting a mark of 1:56.97 with Hopkins placing 10th in 2:02.10.
Michael Murphy (West Pittston, Pa./Wyoming Area) ran to 12th in both the 100 and 200 meters while Thomas Riordan (Campbell, S.C./Landrum) added a fourth place finish in the 400.
The Red Devils had a pair of top-10 finishes in the 5000 meters as Matthew Loalbo (Hamden, Conn./Hamden) won the event with a time of 15:30.08 and first-year Oden Bules (Union Mills, Ind./South Central) was 10th with a time of 16:04.39.
The 4x400 relay clocked a time of 3:30.87 to capture silver while the 4x100 relay ran bronze.
There was no team scoring for the Invite. The Red Devils are scheduled to compete at Messiah College next weekend.
