(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's indoor track & field team had a strong showing at the 2018 Centennial Conference Championships, earning numerous All-Conference honors. First-year Kacper Rzempoluch (Princeton, N.J./West Windsor Plainsboro North) earned back-to-back honors as the Rookie of the Year, earning recognition at the indoor championships as well.
Rzempoluch won the pole vault to earn First-team honors while sophomore teammate Adam Gamber (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) earned Second-team recognition after claiming the silver. The pair both cleared a height of 4.26 meters with Rzempoluch claiming the title on number of attempts.
Four Red Devils earned First-team honors in the 4x800 relay, combining for a winning time of 7:50.99. Senior Billy Dougherty (Mt. Lebanon, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) ran the lead leg with junior Eric Herrmann (Saint James, N.Y./Smithtown) on the anchor. Thomas Riordan (Campbell, S.C./Landrum) and Bryce Descavish (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) ran the middle legs.
Herrmann added Second-team honors in the 1500 meters while senior Devin Glasson (Canton, Conn./Canton) received a pair of Second-team honors in the shot put and the hammer throw. Glasson was also named to the All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team.
Sophomore Natalie Suess (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) led the women's team with a pair of First-place performances, winning the 400 meters and anchoring the 4x400 relay.
Sophomore Liana Tabtiang (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) joined first-years Allyson Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) and Sarah Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh).
Senior Sofia Canning (Portland, Maine/Waynflete) claimed silver and Second-team honors in the 10,000 meters with sophomore Tessa Cassidy (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) receiving honorable mention in the 10,000, placing third.
Senior Niomi Phillips (Oakmont, Pa./Riverview) was named to the All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team.
The Red Devils will send athletes to the Widener Final Qualifier on Thursday.
