Devils Send Off Seniors With 6-1 Win

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team, ranked 19th in the ITA Mid-Atlantic Region, posted a 6-1 win over Washington College to improve to 6-2 in the Centennial Conference on Thursday afternoon.

The Red Devils claimed two points in doubles as senior Derek Chen (Cranbury Township, Pa./Shady Side Academy) and first-year Justin Pace (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) won the top flight 8-3 while first-years Sam Coan (Washington, D.C./Bullis School) and Leonid Sorkin (St. Petersburg, Russia/U. of Nebraska H.S.) 8-2 in the second.

Sorkin, ranked 18th in the region, won the top singles flight (6-3, 6-3) with Coan taking the second (6-3, 6-2).

Joey Bolanos (San Salvador, El Salvado/Escuela Americans) rolled to a (6-1, 6-2) win at number four and Chen battled to a (7-5, 7-6) win in singles.

The Red Devils improve to 9-8 overall on the season. They travel to Johns Hopkins University to close out the regular season before the Centennial Conference Tournament next week.
