CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's tennis team will head into the Spring season feeling good about themselves after knocking off Messiah University 6-3 on Saturday morning at the Hays Tennis Courts.
Doubles (Red Devils 2-1)
All three doubles matches were close as the duo of Florian Anderson and Bennett Gazor started the day with an 8-6 win, before Garrick Adams and Thomas Griffin posted an 8-5 victory. At the No. 2 flight Will Lewis and Levi Veleanu dropped a hard-fought 8-6 decision.
Singles (Red Devils 4-2)
The No. 6 flight finished first with Anderson picking up a 6-3, 6-2 decision, followed by Lewis winning in three at No. 5 (6-1, 6-7, 10-4). Veleanu dispatched Jonathan Baker in quick fashion 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4.
Dickinson then ran into a bit of difficulty as Adams and Gazor fell at No. 3 and 2.
The No. 1 belonged to the Devils with Griffin earning a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Jarod Srader.
Next on Serve
Dickinson will now have to wait until March to get the Spring slate underway.
