Box Score CARLISLE, Pa. - The tenth-ranked Dickinson men's lacrosse team had a dozen different players find the back of the net led by five from first-year Matt Thurston as the Red and White rolled past the visiting McDaniel College Green Terror by a final of 22-3 on Wednesday night at Biddle Field.
Dickinson was on the attack right from the word go as Owen Porter missed the cage at the 39-second mark, before 17-seconds later James Isaacson beat Brighton Lorber. The Red and White added two more markers with less than five minutes off the clock as Porter found Jake Giotto and Skyler Schluter put the rock in the stick of Thurston for his first of the evening. Tucker Booth, Will Farrell, and Isaacson were all stopped by Lorber, but a juicy rebound came back out to Schluter who scored. Two minutes later both Sam Campbell and Thurston tallied to make it 6-0. McDaniel finally stopped the run with 5:41 left when Patrick Fegan solved DC keeper Patrick Scarborough. With just 18-seconds remaining Porter capped the scoring for a 7-1 edge after one.
It took just 47-seconds into the second for Dickinson to hit the back of the net again with Schluter bumping the lead to 9-1. The Red and White attack continued as they recorded 10 of the next dozen shots leading to Porter notching his second at the halfway mark. Off the ensuing faceoff, Sam Campbell found Sascha Gannon for a goal, before it was rinse and repeat off the next draw with Thurston cashing in a dish by Cooper Chamberlain. The Devils would take an impressive 15-1 lead to the half with Booth, Farrell, Porter, and Thurston all besting Lorber over the final 6:18.
McDaniel went in search of a quick goal to start the third, but Scarborough denied Dylan Vitale which resulted in the Schluter to Booth connection picking up goal number 16. After a 10-0 DC run the Green Terror finally put a halt to it at the 6:19 mark of the frame when Eric Manfredonia made it 16-2. Lorber was immediately put back to the test by Booth and Farrell as he turned them aside, but Thurston would not be denied as ripped the twine. Tim Carlson and Ren LaMotte tried to join in the party but were unable to. However, Colin Williams did find the back of the net with less than two minutes to go in the period off a nice find from Lee Dunn extending it to 18-2 through three.
The Devils kept up the onslaught early in the fourth with Liam Riordan and Carter Wilmot letting shots fly at Lorber, before Williams buried his second of the game. Dickinson kept piling on with Griffin Moore, Dunn, and Williams each picking up another goal, while Vitale wrapped up the scoring on the night with 46-seconds left to set the 22-3 final.
In addition to Scarborough manning the pipes for the Red and White, both Caulley Bellistri and Ben Tompkins got time in cage for the Devils.
