CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's tennis team gave all they could during the doubles matching, before having a rough go of it in the singles matches as the visiting Haverford College Fords earned a 9-0 win at the Hays Tennis Courts on Saturday.
Doubles (Haverford 3-0)
The day began with the top pair of Garrick Adams and Thomas Griffin fighting hard, but dropping an 8-5 decision to George Jiang and Stefan Johnson. At second and third doubles Dickinson came so close however the duos of DJ Finnell and Levi Veleanu along with Florian Anderson and Romano De Caprio each came up short in 8-6 setbacks.
Singles (Haverford 6-0)
At fourth singles, De Caprio won the most games of any Devil as he took six from Adam Chow (6-2, 6-4). The top singles competitor was Adams and he dropped a 6-1 first to Jiang, before going nip and tuck in the second but coming up short 6-4. Both Anderson (6-2, 6-1) and Finnell (6-3, 6-0) won three games off of their opponents Kirin Eicher and James McKenzie respectively. Griffin and Velanu were each on the wrong side of 6-1, 6-1 decisions.
