CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's soccer team had six different players find the net and scored four times in each half en route to a dominating 8-0 shutout of the visiting Keystone College Giants on Saturday afternoon at Miller Memorial Field.
The Red and White came out firing on all cylinders as
Ethan Jarden and
Geoffrey Ogenrwot were unable to test Giants keeper Erick Gomez inside the opening five minutes. However, the same two players would combine two minutes later Jarden opening his collegiate account for the 1-0 edge. Dickinson continued to apply pressure with
Saul Iwowo,
Chaz Smith, and Jarden all letting shots fly over the ensuing ten minutes with Gomez being called to make one stop. Jarden completed his brace in the 25th minute when a ball was played into Smith who headed it on to the first-year and he unleashed a rocket past the keeper. The offense stalled out during the following eight minutes until
Will Flannery buried a pass by
Luke Beiles. That was followed by
Mack Moore cashing in off an
Andrew McSlarrow header to push the margin to 4-0 at halftime.
Both sides would make a goalkeeping change to begin the second as Hector Camaja Jr. took over for the Giants, while
Nick Potter went between the sticks for DC. It was Camaja who was the busier of the duo as he faced shots by Jarden and Smith, but did not concede. However, the Devils did in fact breakthrough in minute 72 as Iwowo used a KC defender as a screen to net his first as a Devil. After that tally DC made another goalie change with
Thomas Sniezek taking over. He was called into action at 73:08 when he had to deny CJ Lampert on the Giants lone shot of the match. Dickinson added three more before the 90 minutes were up thanks to Flannery putting away a free kick and
Luke Finkielstein and
Colin Hofmann netting their first of the season to set the 8-0 final.Â
