HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Dickinson women's tennis team returned to their winning ways on Tuesday evening by dominating the Foresters of Lake Forest College from start to finish en route to a 7-2 win at the Hilton Head Beach and Tennis Club.
Doubles (Devils 3-0)
Dickinson swept the doubles and allowed Lake Forest to win just a combined six games across three matches. First, the team of
Izzy Desjardins and
Martine Fierro locked down an 8-1 win over Margaret Bugnacki and Rebecca Daskal. Next, the unit of
Ariana Goitz and
Alisa Steele took care of Sara Lopez and Libby Moog (8-2), while
Dana Kleinman and
Molly Michel gave up three games to Emily Bross and Kelsey Akins before securing the 8-3 win.
Singles (Devils 4-2)
At the number five slot Michel allowed Bross to win only two games as she cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 victory. Desjardins a spot later dispatched of Unnathi Pasupuleti in straight sets (6-3, 6-4), while Steele also swept out Moog at third singles (6-4, 6-2). Goitz needed to go the distance with Lopez at second as the Devil grabbed the first 6-3, prior to falling in the second set 1-6. However, in a nip-and-tuck super tiebreaker it was Goitz who proved to be the strongest winning 10-8. Fierro (1st) and Kleinman (4th) both battled hard, but dropped straight set decisions.

Dickinson (4-1) takes a day to rest up before returning to action on Thursday afternoon against Asbury University from Kentucky at 12:30pm at Hilton Head Beach and Tennis.Â
