HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Dickinson men's tennis team ended their busy spring break trip in South Carolina with an 8-1 setback to The College of Wooster at Hilton Head High School on Friday morning.
Doubles (Fighting Scots 2-1)
The lone Devils point of the match came at third doubles when
Florian Anderson and
DJ Finnell had too much for Namit Misra and Walker Wood claiming an 8-5 win. The second group of
Thomas Griffin and
Levi Veleanu battled hard against Shivam Dewan and Alex Drewes, but fell just short 8-6. The top duo comprised of
Garrick Adams and
Will Lewis grabbed four games versus Gabriel Escobar and Patrick Johnson, unfortunately it was not enough in an 8-4 loss.Â
Singles (Fighting Scots 6-0)
The most compelling match was on the five line where Connor Streeter and Finnell traded the opening two sets, before Streeter took the super-tiebreaker 10-3. Two Devils were able to win five games as Adams claimed at one, while Veleanu also took five. However, both suffered two set defeats.
Nick Kohler (6th), Griffin (2nd) and Lewis (4th) did not have enough to pick up victories with each falling in straight sets.
Next on the Court
Dickinson (2-5) now returns to the friendly confines of Hays Tennis Courts in Carlisle to battle the Bulldogs of DeSales University at 4pm on Friday, March 24th.
