CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's tennis suffered their third consecutive conference setback on Tuesday afternoon as the visiting Franklin & Marshall College claimed a 9-0 victory at the Hays Tennis Courts.
Doubles (Diplomats 3-0)
The top DC pair made up of
Izzy Desjardins and
Martine Fierro gave it a good go against Cassidy Landau and Mackenzie Sherman, but came up on the wrong side of a 6-8 decision. At number two
Ariana Goitz and Alisa Steel fought hard versus Jenna Harrison and Clara March Okuyama dropped their match 3-8. The other Red Devil team of
Anabelle Armendarez and
Dana Kleinman took just one game off of Rebecca Bellick and Amelia Squires (1-8).Â
Singles (Diplomats 6-0)
The only match out of the six to go past two sets was at number three where Steele won the first 6-2, before dropping the second 1-6. However, she would drop the supertiebreaker 5-10. At the top of the ladder both Fierro (1st) and Goitz (2nd) would fall in identical fashion 2-6, 4-6 to Landau and Harrison respectively. Desjardins claimed four games off of March Okuyama in a 3-6, 1-6 loss, while Armendarez fell to Bellick 1-6, 1-6. In the sixth spot
Molly Michel and Hayley Bidwell squared off with the Diplomat grabbing a 0-6, 1-6 win.
