Devils and Diplomats Under the Friday Night Lights for the Wagon

CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson football team will go in search of their third straight win under the always popular "Friday Night Lights" as they welcome the archrival Franklin and Marshall College to Biddle Field in the Battle for the Conestoga Wagon. Kickoff between the two Centennial Conference foes is slated for 7pm.

The Conestoga Wagon
Since 1963, the Red Devils Devils and Diplomats have battled each other for a model of the wagon that transported the two teams to play each other in both meetings back in 1889. The trophy is a gift from former athletic directors Dave Eavenson (DC) and J. Shober Barr (F&M) and is meant to symbolize the gridiron rivalry between the two programs.

Inside the Devils Den
Fireside Review - DEVILS 24, Kean 13 (Union, N.J. - Alumni Stadium)
It took Dickinson just three minutes to secure the first points of the game as Presley Egbers plunged in from two-yards out for a 7-0 lead (Justin Worobel kick). The Red and White then extended the margin to 10-0 only three seconds into the following quarter thanks to a 25-yard field goal from Worobel to cap off an 11 play, 74 yard march. After the Cougars picked up a 27-yard touchdown pass things remained 10-7 all the way until the fourth quarter when Egbers connected with Matt Maiona for a 38-yard strike, which was followed by Egbers once again doing it on the ground from three away to open up a 24-7 cushion with ten minutes left in the game. The home side tallied one more score at the halfway point of the period to set the 24-13 result.

The Offensive General
Against Kean Egbers posted a 6-for-17 afternoon totaling 85 yards with one touchdown and one interception, while being sacked once. On the season he is 40-for-90 racking up 451 yards thanks to four touchdowns and a 96.76 quarterback rating.

Rushing Attack
Diante Ball continued his strong season versus the Cougars carrying the rock 20 times for an even 100 yards averaging 5.0 per touch. Princeton Douglass was also involved in the ground game using his seven rushes to pick up 61 yards (8.7 avg.), while Egbers chipped in nine rushes for 60 yards and a pair of scores. On the season, Ball has totaled 308 yards on 60 carries which leads the conference in yards, but he sits second in conference in yards per game as his 102.7 trails Gettysburg quarterback Rocco Abdinoor (117.0).

Pass Catchers
Egbers found five different targets to spread the rock out to against Kean as Ball hauled in two passes for 26 yards. Maiona totaled the most yards (38) on his one catch which resulted in a touchdown. Devlin McCool, Bryce Peterson and Douglass each brought in one reception combining for 23 yards.

Defense Helps as Well
The Red and White were led by Neville Krueger who had a stellar day against the Cougars recording nine tackles, including two for a loss and one sack. He also forced a fumble in the Devils victory. Anton Jacobs was next on the team in stops with seven. The group of Keon Eady, Bram Leys, John Prochniak, Jeremy Reid, Justin Rocha, Alex Sulin and Brendan Walker each added five hits, while Reid also added a forced fumble and interception.
