HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Dickinson men's tennis team ended a very productive Spring Break trip in South Carolina with an 8-1 non-conference setback to Shenandoah University at the Hilton Head Beach & Tennis Club.
Doubles (Hornets 2-1)
The Devils lone win of the match came at the third slot where the first-year pair of
Drew Allen and
Eddy Chow collected an 8-6 win.
DJ Finnell and
Levi Veleanu playing in the two spot gave it a good go, but came up short against Jovan Cirkovic and Dominick Suwak by an 8-4 margin. The top unit with
Romano De Caprio and
Will Lewis would also drop their match to Artem Babaiev and Kieth Orr (8-3).
Singles (Hornets 6-0)
In a change from the typical scoring each match went just one set as the Devils best chance to pick up a victory came at the four spot where Allen fell 8-7 to Chintahrlapalli. De Caprio tried his best in the top slot, but Cirkovic held on for the 8-3 win. The only other DC athlete to collect any games was
Talon Baker in the sixth hole dropping an 8-2 decision to Neal Love. Unfortunately, the trio of
Sid Ramaswamy,
Aidan MacIntosh and Lewis each suffered an 8-0 defeat.
