SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's tennis team kicked off their Centennial Conference season on Saturday afternoon at the Faulkner Tennis Courts against the nationally-ranked Swarthmore College Garnet. Unfortunately, for the Red and White the host Garnet collected a 9-0 victory.
Doubles (Garnet 3-0)
At the top spot, Romano Di Caprio and
Will Lewis were tripped up by Max Pogorelov and Aadhi Raja by a margin of 8-3. The duo of
DJ Finnell and
Levi Veleanu were knocked off by the pair of Aamish Pal and Phil Rehwinkel 8-2 in the two slot. The third unit of
Drew Allen and
Eddy Chow claimed one game off of Kevin Jiang and Winston Zhang in an 8-1 setback.
Singles (Garnet 6-0)
Unfortunately, Dickinson suffered straight set defeats at all six slots. The Red and White's best outputs came at the fourth and sixth spots where Lewis and Allen dropped identical 6-2, 6-2 matches to Raja and Pogorelov respectively. Di Caprio playing at number two fell 6-2, 6-1 against Pal. Veleanu who got the opportunity to play in the top slot took one game versus Jiang in a 6-0, 6-1 loss. Finnell at three and Chow in the five spot went down 6-0, 6-0 to Rehwinkel and Utham Koduri.Â

Dickinson (7-3, 0-1 Centennial) is back in action on Tuesday afternoon at 4pm when they head to Lancaster to battle Franklin & Marshall College in conference play.
