CHESTERTOWN, Md. - The Dickinson men's tennis team suffered their second straight loss on Saturday afternoon as the host Washington College secured an 8-1 conference victory at the Schottland Tennis Center.
Doubles (Shoremen 3-0)
The top Devil team of
Romano De Caprio and
Will Lewis came the closest to picking up a win, but Aaradith Ravichandran and Karl Hoegstedt edged them out 8-5. The third group with
Florian Anderson and
DJ Finnell won the next most game securing three in an 8-3 loss to Johannes Ludwigstorff and Jorge Urgal Zuleta.
Drew Allen and
Eddy Chow playing in the second slot dropped an 8-2 decision to Ryohei Kawai and Kohl Perkins.Â
Singles (Shoremen 5-1)
Dickinson's lone win came at the number three spot where Lewis fell behind 1-0 in the first set to Perkins, before he was forced to retire allowing DC to pull within 3-1. However, wins by Hoegstedt (1st) and Ravichandran (4th) over De Caprio (0-6, 1-6) and Allen (3-6, 1-6) clinched the match for the hosts making it 5-1. At number two, Finnell gave it a valiant effort against Kawai, but was tripped up 5-7, 3-6. Chow (5th) and
Aidan MacIntosh (6th) combined to pick up five games against Zuleta (0-6, 2-6) and Ludwigstorff (3-6, 0-6). Â

Dickinson (8-7, 1-5 Centennial) will look to get back to winning ways on Wednesday when they welcome Gettysburg College to the Hays Tennis Courts for a 4pm start.
