CHESTERTOWN, Md. - The Dickinson women's tennis team suffered their second consecutive Centennial Conference loss on Saturday afternoon falling on the road at Washington College by a score of 8-1 at the Schottland Tennis Center.
Doubles (Shorewomen 3-0)
The only Devil pair to pick up any games was the second unit of
Dana Kleinman and
Sara Jaklitsch as they went down 8-3 to Piper Sartison and Isabella Sorhegui. The other two DC teams of
Alisa Steele and
Bonnie Thomas (1st) as well as
Maddie Lindquist and
Molly Michel (3rd) were each blanked in their respective matches 8-0.
Singles (Shorewomen 5-1)
The lone DC triumph came in the sixth slot as with the match already decided Jaklitsch and Carrie Lord played a one-setter that went to the Devil 8-4. Both Steele at one and
Anabelle Armendarez in the fifth slot dropped identical 1-6, 2-6 matches to Sartison and Sorhegui. Michel gave a good showing against Soleil Namunyola at the three slot, but fell 3-6, 3-6. Thomas (2nd) and Kleinman (4th) were each able to grab just one game off of their opponents Eva Kading (0-6, 1-6) and M.C. Diaz-Nazario (1-6, 0-6).
The First Serve
Dickinson (9-6, 3-4 Centennial) will attempt to snap their skid and continue a late season push towards a postseason berth on Monday when they head to the battlefield for a showdown with Gettysburg College. First serve is scheduled for 4pm.
