FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Dickinson men's tennis team took the duo of
Lucas Bogle and
David Daraban down to the University of Mary Washington this weekend to take part in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southeast Regional Championship. The two combatants competed hard all weekend and showcased outstanding grit and determination to help set them up for the rest of the season.
Singles
Championship Draw
Both athletes started their journey in the Round of 64 with Daraban battling Emerson Rice from Hampden-Sydney College. The two split the first two sets 6-4 and 4-6, before the Devil posted a 10-7 win in the deciding super tiebreaker. He was then defeated in the Round of 32 by Max Lindstrom out of conference rival Swarthmore College 0-6, 1-6. Bogle was opposite of Vincent Truong from Christopher Newport University in the opening round and suffered a 1-6, 0-6 setback. That put him into the consolation draw against Goucher College's Benedikt Rummel. He would unfortunately drop the one-set match by a score 2-8.Â
Doubles
Championship Draw
The duo also took to the court for the doubles draw and opened up with Nathan Russell and Alex Seretis from Christopher Newport University. The Captains pair would proceed on with a 4-8 decision. The Devil tandem then found themselves in the consolation draw against Samvid Andhare and Dhaivik Chenemilla out of Stevens Institute of Technology in the Round of 16. The Red and White moved thanks to a walkover and then they secured a win by withdraw versus Luke Brodsky and Soren Rudin-Aulenbach (Franklin and Marshall College). The pair was then slated for a battle with Lynchburg College's pair of Ricards Spaks and Patricio Zepeda in the Semifinals of the draw. However, that match was not contested.Â

Dickinson will close out their fall slate on Friday afternoon with a non-conference match against Allegheny College at 4pm on the Hays Tennis Courts.
