LANCASTER, Pa. -- The Dickinson College men's swimming team closed their impressive weekend on a high note at the Franklin & Marshall Invite. The team closed out the weekend with a seventh place overall finish, highlighted by wins from Senior
James Wright and a new school record set in the 400 Freestyle Relay.
Preliminary Qualifiers
- Senior James Wright started the morning strong in the men's 200 Back, winning the event in 1:49.07 for a new PR. First-years Cole Newman and Paul Knecht went back to back in 21st and 22nd place, touching the wall in 2:04 and 2:04.14 respectively.
- Next was the men's 100 Free where Samson Qu finished fifth in 46.20 to qualify for the evening finals.
- Three more Red Devils qualified for finals in the men's 200 Breast, led by sophomore Joe Apat placing 11th in 2:09.92. Senior Paul Florio qualified with his 16th place, 2:13.77 finish, along with senior Henry Lease's 19th place, 2:14.78 outing.
- Senior Andrew Kelley recorded a top finish in the 200 Fly, finishing 14th in 1:58.24.
Finals Results
- Wright was victorious yet again in the 200 Back, touching the wall in 1:49.74.
- In the men's 100 Free, Qu continued on with a great fourth place, 45.96 finish for a new PR.
- The Red Devils continued on in the 200 Breast, with Apat finishing 13th in 2:11.03, and Florio placing 16th in 2:13.01.
- Kelley continued in the 200 Fly, placing 13th overall in 1:57.46.
Relay Results
- The Red and White conquered the 400 Free Relay, when the team of Wright, Kelley, Lukas Nier, and Qu broke the school record with a time of 3:04.56 for a second place finish.
On Deck
The Red Devils are set to return on December 5 and 6 at the Gettysburg College Invite. Races will begin on Friday at 6 p.m., and on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
