WESTMINSTER, Md. - The Dickinson men's swimming team closed out the regular season in strong fashion on Saturday afternoon toppling the host McDaniel College Green Terror by a score of 78-16 inside of Harlow Pool in a Centennial Conference dual meet.
The Red and White began the day with a victory in the 200-yard medley as the team of
Nolan Chenot,
Frederico Colloca-Bianchi,
Jack Engel and
Samson Qu getting to the wall in 1:38.95.
Damon Buchanan had a strong swim during the 1650-yard freestyle posting an 18:10.60 for second.
Dickinson went "one-two" for the 200-yard freestyle thanks to
Paul Florio (1:51.96) and
Joe Apat (1:52.73).
Jace Pedicone gave the Red and White their second straight win by stopping the clock at 23.52 in the 50-yard freestyle, while
Benjamin Brandt clocked in at 24.58 to nab second.
It was three wins in a row during the 200-yard individual medley as
Aidan Keillor hit in 2:07.98 to beat out teammate
Matthew Ferenz with a 2:14.33.
The streak hit four thanks to a win in the 100-yard butterfly by
James Wright hitting the wall at 53.35, while Buchanan seized fourth (1:00.81).
Henry Lease and Florio completed another "one-two" finish for the Devils during the 100-yard freestyle with times of 51.15 and 51.64 respectively.
The Devils roll just kept on going in the 200-yard freestyle with Colloca-Bianchi hitting the wall in 2:04.50 for the win, followed by Brandt at 2:10.85.
Alexander Kanard made his first appearance of the meet count by winning the 500-yard freestyle with a 5:03.06, while
Andrew Kelley clocked in at 5:03.32 for second.
Keillor claimed another individual win by posting a 1:05.10 in the 100-yard breaststroke with Apat a second off the pace at 1:06.11.
The day ended with
Daulton Kendall,
Justin Wong, Engel and Qu claiming victory for the 200-yard freestyle relay by stopping the timer in 1:28.00.
Next on the Pool Deck
Dickinson (8-2, 4-2 Centennial) now turns their attention to the Centennial Conference Championships which will begin on Thursday, February 20th in Lancaster, Pennsylvania at Franklin & Marshall College.
