LANCASTER, Pa. - The Dickinson men's indoor track and field team closed out their season on Sunday afternoon with a third-place finish at the Centennial Conference Championships hosted by Franklin and Marshall College. In addition to the Red and White's strong team performance first-year
Franklyn Akabi-During was voted as the Men's Most Outstanding Track Performer of the meet.
Sprints
Akabi-During continued his brilliant meet by winning the 60m with a new conference championship and overall conference record time of 6.86. He was joined in the race by
Darian Crim at 7.05 for fifth, while
Jason Hollinger crossed in 7.16 to nab seventh.
Akabi-During racked up win number two during the 200m by hitting the line in 22.03 for a new conference championship meet record. Crim just missed the podium as his time of 22.67 grabbed fourth, followed by
William O'Connor at 23.35 for 11th.
A pair of Devils secured Top-10 places for the 400m as
Trevor Richwine won the race with a 49.48, while
Ian Gormley hit the stripe at 51.51 for eighth. The trio of
Evan Feldman,
Matthew Gareau and
Benjamin Dench also competed taking up 12th (53.41), 16th (54.61) and 19th (55.20).
Distance
Richwine collected his second gold of the day during the 800m by besting the field with a 1:53.58, followed by
Jeremy Sallade in fifth (1:56.38).
James Masterson posted a 12th-place finish at 1:59.41, while the trio of
Alex Hansen,
Amos Liles and
Nolan Meincke ran together finishing 18th (2:01.32), 19th (2:01.37) and 20th (2:01.56) respectively.
A large group of Devils took to the track for the 3000m with
Brock Overlander being the lone athlete to earn a Top-10 slot nabbing seventh by crossing the line in 8:45.89.

Nathan Caldwell (20th - 8:59.51),
Matthew Dietrick (22nd - 9:02.38),
Benjamin Moseman (23rd - 9:02.82),
Atticus Fair (27th - 9:09.41) and
Mason Macek (28th - 9:09.70) rounded out the competing athletes.
Meincke, Fair, Hansen and
Avi Ghorai did battle in the mile run occupying ninth (4:21.01), 11th (4:25.24), 13th (4:28.98) and 25th (4:53.46).
Relays
Dickinson picked up another win during the 4x400m as the team of Akabi-During, Crim, Gormley and Richwine hit the stripe in 3:22.50.
Field
Kieran Santos seized seventh for the high jump by clearing 1.80m.
At the jump pit, Hollinger rounded out the Top-10 for the long jump with a mark of 6.09m.
Special Event
Josh Penny finished the heptathlon with 3068 points for eighth. His best event was the high jump where he took fourth by clearing a mark of 1.55m
Team Scores
Johns Hopkins University claimed the conference title with 175 points, followed by Ursinus (132), RED DEVILS (105), Haverford (78), Muhlenberg (62), Gettysburg (59), McDaniel (55), Swarthmore (47) and Franklin & Marshall (27).
