YORK, Pa. – The Dickinson Men's Tennis team battled hard, but ultimately fell to the Spartans of York College by a score of 5-2 on Sunday afternoon.
Inside The Match
Despite a win from the Red Devils top pairing of first-year Lucas Bogle and sophomore Drew Allen 6-2, the Red Devils gave up the doubles point, after the Spartans closely claimed the second and third doubles flights. First-year Lucas Bogle continues to impress playing in the top flight. The Englishman got the better of Jason Lutz 6-1, 6-3, claiming the first point for the Red and White. The second and final point for the Red Devils came in the second flight, from his doubles partner Drew Allen. Allen had to battle past a challenging first set, in which he claimed 7-6, and 12-10 in the tiebreaker game. Allen then found his footing, easily winning the second set 6-1. In the third flight, Florian Anderson almost snuck the second set but eventually fell in straight sets. Sophomore Aidan MacIntosh was able to send his opponent to a tiebreaker in the second set, but the result didn't fall his way.
