Quick Notes
Final Score - DEVILS 6, Eagles 0Â
Records - Dickinson (9-8) | Rowan (6-12)
Pitching Decision - W -
Drew Norton (2-1) | L - Aedan Hrivnak (0-1)
- After a scoreless first and top-half of the second, Dickinson came to bat in the home-half looking to get on the board. Luke Gartland opened things up with a single to left, before Kevin Schmidt smacked a triple to right scoring one. Christian Kim reached on an error to place runners on the corners with no one out for George Thorp who hit into a double play, but allowed Schmidt the opportunity to race home from third for a 2-0 edge.Â

Â
- Norton continued his dominance on the hill as he retired six of the next seven men he face with only a walk to Zach Johnston stopping him from going "six-up, six-down".
- After back-to-back strikeouts to open up the home-half of the frame, Thorp singled, before crossing home when Dylan Posencheg blasted a triple to deep right-center. Josh Markley then stepped into the box and watched Posencheg score when Hrivnak was called for a balk. He would leg out an infield single and Kaden Sigmon was hit by new pitcher Harrison Leister. However, Ryan Thompson flew out to center stalling the rally at 4-0.
- Following 4.1 innings of hitless baseball Norton finally gave up his first base knock with one away when Tim Coleman picked up a single to shortstop. Fortunately, for Dickinson Norton then bared down to get back-to-back groundouts ending the inning.
- With one down a single by Gartland and walk to Johnny Bruno gave Dickinson a great opportunity to add onto their lead with Kim stepping into the box. He did not face Leister though as Connor Rohm was summoned from the pen. Both runners swiped the ensuing base leaving two in scoring position, which allowed the fly ball to right from Kim to score Gartland. Â
- Norton ended his afternoon after six frames and gave way to Dylan Robinson. He would allow back-to-back singles to give the Eagles a chance to get a little closer. However, Robinson then locked things down with a flyout, strikeout and pickoff.
- Juniata had another chance in the top of the inning when two single, a wild pitch and walk left runners everywhere with one gone for Jackson Cunnane. He did not get to go after Robinson though as Charlie Bien entered the game and needed just two pitches to retire the side.
- The bottom-half saw the Red and White make it 6-0 when with one out Sigmon bashed a triple to right-center, before Thompson produced a sacrifice fly to left.Â
- Bien ended the game in style by setting down the Eagles one-two-three, including getting a spectacular sliding catch by Sigmon in left to end the game.
