- Dickinson would get a runner during the front-half of the third when Luke Gartland walked. After a wild pitch advanced him to second, Potholm settled down and retired the next three men he faced. Swarthmore added onto their advantage in the bottom-half of the frame when with one Max Roffwarg reached on an infield single, before two batters later Benjamin Buchman notched his second long ball of the day sending the lead to 4-0 heading to the fourth.
- The Red and White then woke up offensively using doubles from Ryan Thompson and Kyle Bailey to pull one back. Kevin Schmidt singled to left leaving men at the corners with two down. Gartland cut it down to 4-2 with base hit through the left-side, before Dylan Posencheg stuck a Potholm offering in left as well making the margin 4-3 through three-and-a-half.
- Buzza posted a "three-up, three-down" home part of the fourth to let DC hold onto the momentum. However, the fifth inning saw the home team add one more to the tally as Leor Kedar reached on an error and later crossed hom on a two-bagger from Roffwarg (5-3).
- Dickinson attempted to dig into the deficit in the seventh against new arm David Herrin. With two out and one on, Matt Torres worked a walk to put the tying runs on base for Bailey. Unfortunately, he was unable to catch up to the Herrin offering going down on strikes to stall the rally.Â
- The Garnet made it hurt double during the home-half by using a fielder's choice, walk and single to extend the margin to 6-3 entering the eighth.Â
- Dickinson had a chance in the eighth when with two down a walk to Gartland and single by Posencheg gave Josh Markley a chance, but he would hit into a groundout. Then, in the ninth, Kaden Sigmon was hit, Thompson and Schmidt walked to fill the pillows with two gone for Johnny Bruno. That was when reliever Steven Jungers finished off his save with a groundout.

- The Garnet picked up one run in each of the next two innings thanks to a home run in the fourth and a double followed by a DC miscue during the fifth (6-1).
- With Grayson Walker on the hill for the Red and White in the sixth, the home side stretched the advantage to 10-1 on the strength of four singles and a wild pitch.
