Inside the Game
- After a scoreless first inning and a half, Dickinson went to work in the last of the second getting a leadoff single from Abby Kohan, before three batters later Hope Josti collected an RBI two-out single to right for a 1-0 lead through two.
- PSU tried to respond in the top of the third as two singles had runners at first and second with one out for Megan Marks. Dickinson pitcher Emory Hadden would prevent any damage though by getting Marks to line into the inning-ending double play.
- However, an error and two singles during the top of the fourth did tie the game for the Lions.
- The Devils had the immediate answer in the ensuing half-inning when singles by Lauren Routzahn and Laia Gwathmey had two on with two away. Back-to-back knocks to left from Hadden and Marah Goldman led to three crossing the plate to open up a 4-1 edge entering the fifth.
- PSU would then mount a massive rally over the next two frames as two singles and an error resulted in one coming in during the fifth, while a pair of triples, a double and single scored three an inning later to make it 5-4 Lions as the game went to the last of the sixth.
- A two-bagger for Josti and single to left off the stick of Goldman brought the Red and White level with two down, before two batters later Kaylie Renner smacked a pitch to center for the 6-5 edge sending the Lions to "last call".
- McMahon who had replaced Hadden in the sixth, used two flyouts and a strikeout of Marks to end the game.
