SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Dickinson men's outdoor track and field team collected multiple titles and Top-10 finishes on Wednesday as they took park in the Shippensburg University Midweek Invite.
Sprints
Franklyn Akabi-During had a strong performance for the 100m taking second at 10.81, followed by
William O'Connor in 17th (11.62). With hurdles placed at 110m Brendan Regan stayed inside the Top-10 with a ninth-place finish following his time of 17.52.
The 200m saw Akabi-During take home the title with a time of 22.20. O'Connor and
Ian Gormley ran together claiming 17th (23.76) and 18th (23.77) respectively.
Matthew Greenley hit the line in 2490 for 29th, followed by
Benjamin Dench and
Tim Gross in 35th (25.44) and 36th (25.75).
The Red and White went "one-two" for the 400m as
Trevor Richwine grabbed the win at 50.04, followed close behind by
Jeremy Sallade in second (50.76). Gormley also worked his way into the Top-10 with a time of 51.94 nabbing seventh.
Matthew Gareau (15th - 53.33),
Amos Liles (16th - 53.40) and Gross (24th - 57.41) all took part in the event as well. A trio of Devils competed in the 400m hurdles, as Regan just missed the Top-3 nabbing fourth (1:00.26).
Nathan Caldwell and Dench finished in eighth (1:02.69) and tenth (1:04.96) respectively.
Distance
James Masterson just missed the podium for the 800m with his time of 1:58.62 good for fourth.
Evan Feldman finished out in 15th (2:07.84), followed by
Travis Knaggs (23rd - 2:16.05) and
Jack Solovey (27th - 2:19.55)
Two Devils nabbed Top-10 slots for the 1500m as Knaggs claimed sixth (4:23.84), while
Matthew Colden collected tenth thanks to a 4:30.90.
Relays
The team of Gareau, Masterson, Richwine and Sallade took home fifth in the 4x400m after stopping the clock at 3:40.92.
Field
Matthew Greenley took part in the pole vault seizing 11th after clearing a height of 3.15m.
In the throws,
Oliver Stroka earned 16th during the discus with a mark of 35.56m. He then completed the podium for the hammer thanks to a toss of 49.41m.Â
Next on the Track
The Red Devils will head over to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Friday to compete in the Coach P Invite hosted by Moravian University starting at 10am.
