GREENSBORO, N.C. – Dickinson baseball captured some more recognition on Tuesday afternoon as senior catcher, Ryan Thompson was chosen Second Team All-Region as announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

For the second straight season, Thompson, a native of East Islip, New York, was tabbed for the All-Region squad after appearing in and starting all 33 games for the Devils hitting .380 from the leadoff spot to go along with 139 hits, 106 runs scored, 91 RBIs, 29 doubles, five home runs and a pair of triples. He also added nearly 100 walks (98), while being hit 16 times and swiping 19 bags. In the field, he has racked up 248 putouts and added 30 assists for a .986 fielding percentage. During the course of the season he had ten multi-hit games and five multi-RBI games, including a season-high three in games against Messiah, California Lutheran and Franklin & Marshall. He also ended the season incredibly hot at the dish as he tried to push the Red and White to another possible postseason run closing out his collegiate career with a 19-game hitting streak, posting five multi-hit outburst during that stretch as well as seven extra-base hits and eleven RBIs. Defensively, he had six double-digit putout games, with a season-high 13 coming versus Gettysburg on April 9th on the road.
