Welcome to Carlisle! Paul Padalino Named Football's New Defensive Coordinator

CARLISLE, Pa. - Dickinson head football coach Brad Fordyce has announced a new addition to his staff as Paul Padalino will join the Red Devil family as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator.

"It is a great time to join this program and community" said Padalino. "I have the opportunity to create lasting relationships with the student-athletes and see them develop as football players, students and young men. The Centennial Conference is a premier football conference, alongside of Dickinson's athletic mission of competitive excellence and commitment to developing leaders and engaged community members there was not a more opportune time to join such a great institution."

Padalino, a graduate of the University of Richmond, has spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach focusing on both cornerbacks and outside linebackers at Division I Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina where he worked with his specific position groups to strategize and implement the weekly gameplan.  He also was responsible for analyzing the opponents film to create and generate reports to identify opponent tendencies and schematic challenges specifically in the pass game. Prior to his time in North Carolina, Padalino served as the cornerbacks and linebackers coach at Georgetown University in the nation's capital where he conducted defensive position installs, playbook creation, film breakdown and game planning.

Coach Fordyce offered his thoughts about Padalino joining his staff saying "we are excited for Paul to join our staff, he comes from a football family and has tremendous passion for teaching, mentoring, and developing players. His experience at the FBS and FCS level will be invaluable to our team and staff. He has a strong presence, is extremely detailed, and motivated.  Our program will benefit as he becomes a part of our staff."

"Dickinson is a great fit due to Coach Fordyce's vision and plan to build a successful program" Padalino added. "During the interview process, it was evident that Coach Fordyce and I see the game of football very similarly to create the success we both want. I am excited to work alongside an enthusiastic, defensive-minded Head Coach and help him bring his vision of Dickinson Football to fruition."

"I want the Dickinson alumni and fans to know that our defense will be fast, physical and will always play with great effort. I firmly believe the defense takes on the personality of the coach and the daily hard work, competitiveness and energy will be reflected in the defense the fans see on the field. I look forward to joining this community and creating relationships with their entire Dickinson College family."
