CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's tennis team got their 2025-26 season off to a terrific start on Friday afternoon as they took down the visiting Catholic University by a score of 5-2 at the Hays Tennis Courts.
Doubles (Cardinals 3-0)
The visitors took all three matches with the closest coming at number three where
Maddie Lindquist and
Alisa Steele fell by a score of 7-5 to Meaghan Laniewski and Ella Knox.
Natasha Sharnoff and
Merve Uyumazturk pushed hard at one, but went down 6-3, while
Chloe Heller and
Loretta Szych suffered a 6-1 defeat.
Singles (Devils 5-1)
The script flipped during the singles competition as the Red and White grabbed all but one match. At number one, Steele bested Shloka Tambat by scores of 6-3, 7-5. Down one spot from there Sharnoff went the distance with Annie Nemoy winning in three sets (6-2, 2-6, 6-2). The next three matches were won in straight sets by Heller (6-4, 7-5), Uyumazturk (6-2, 6-3) and Szych (6-2, 6-4). Catholic's lone win came at six where Ava Niggemeier held off
Brenna Bussinger (2-6, 1-6).

Dickinson (1-0) stays at home for their next match on Saturday, September 20th when local rival Messiah University comes to the Hays Tennis Courts for a 12pm first serve.
