LANCASTER, Pa. - Following a strong performance this weekend, Dickinson men's track athlete
Franklyn Akabi-During has been tabbed the Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday morning.
The sophomore out of Washington, D.C., set both the new Centennial Conference and Dickinson record in the 200 meters at the Penn State National Open . Thanks to a strong time of 21.62 he took sixth place in an event that consisted of runners from across Divisions I, II and III, besting the previous conference record that he shared with Ursinus' Aiden Tobin. That time ranks 12th in the nation so far this season.
Akabi-During and the rest of the Red Devils return to action on Saturday morning at 10am as they head to the Blue & White Open on the campus of Franklin & Marshall College.
