Box Score ORLANDO, Fla. - The Dickinson women's tennis team finished off a productive Spring Break trip in Florida on Thursday afternoon by knocking off the University of Wisconsin-Superior 6-1 at Sanlando Park.
Doubles (DEVILS 2-1 | Count as one team point)
The top pair of
Jenna Crain and
Merve Uyumazturk defeated Claudia Curtis-Andreina Tejada by a score of 6-2, while the other Devil victory came on the three line with the
Alisa Steele-
Loretta Szych duo posting a 6-3 victory against Daylyn Drew and Elif Oezen. Dickinson was unable to complete the sweep though as
Anabel Romero Gemmell and
Natasha Sharnoff came out on the wrong side of a 6-1 setback to Anouk Bluemm-Kate Jonas.
Singles (DEVILS 5-1)
Superior immediately evened things up as Tejada earned the win after Crain was forced to retire from the top tier battle. On the two line, Steele dominated Bluemm 6-0, 6-1. At spots three and four both Sharnoff and Uyumazturk were forced to play deciding super tiebreakers with the Devils posting wins of 10-4 and 10-2 respectively versus Oezen and Curtis. The other two matches featuring
Chloe Heller (5th) and Szych (6th) finished with identical 6-2, 6-3 scorelines which gave the Red and White a 6-1 win.

Dickinson (6-4) will now return to Pennsylvania, before heading back out on the road for a non-conference battle with Goucher College. The Red Devils and Gophers will take to the courts on Sunday afternoon at 1pm.Â
