BALTIMORE - After not playing since March 12th, the Dickinson women's tennis team was back in action on Sunday afternoon with a non-conference battle against Goucher College at the Schroedl Tennis Center. The Red and White were in control from the opening serve as the rolled to a 7-0 victory over the Gophers.
Doubles (DEVILS 3-0 | Count as one point in team score)
The second duo of
Natasha Sharnoff and
Alisa Steele along with the third pair of
Anabel Romero Gemmell and
Loretta Szych both cruised to 6-0 victories. At the top spot,
Jenna Crain and
Merve Uyumazturk allowed one game to Natalia Navarro-Meline Siggen en route to a 6-1 triumph.
Singles (DEVILS 6-0)
On the top of the table was Crain who blanked Navarro (6-0, 6-0). Sharnoff (3rd), Uyumazturk (4th) and
Chloe Heller (5th) all took their matches by margins of 6-0, 6-1 over Lucy Ingraham, Alexa Benedict and Kendra Lanese respectively. In the six slot, Szych knocked off Nini Kandelaki by scores of 6-1, 6-1, while in the two spot Steele had a battle with Siggen in the first but held on for a 6-4, 6-1 straight set win.
