Inside the Game
  • The game began with F&M taking a 1-0 lead in the first thanks to a walk and hit batter allowing Matt Hollender to drive the man in with a single to center. David McGeorge retired DC in order during the home-half to send it to the second.
  • The Diplomats took advantage of an error and Landon Hallett single to bump the lead to 2-0 entering the bottom of the frame. That was when the home team went to work. Single by Kyle Bailey, walk to Josh Markley and base hit from Freeman Hunt put one home. An error with Ben Milligan at the dish scored another, before a wild pitch plated Hunt for the 3-2 edge. Matt Conforti collected an RBI with a fielder's choice. Dylan Posencheg singled and Will Ferris walked to load the bases for Johnny Bruno. He ripped a two-run single to right making it 6-2, before knocks by Bailey and Luke Gartland had the advantage at 9-2 with two done.
  • F&M would then begin to chip away using solo RBIs during the third and fourth to get within 9-4. DC reliver Sam Bliss was replaced by Aidan McElhatton to start off the fifth and got two quick outs, before two walks and a single loaded the bags for Michael Von Zuben who provided a bases clearing single to cut it down to 9-7. Owen Woodward was next and he reached on an error which also plated Von Zuben. The defender retrieved the ball but then overthrew third base as Woodward was hustling around the bases allowing him to come all the way in to tie the game. Drew Norton then was summoned from the pen and he surrendered no further damage. The Diplomats would use the long ball in the sixth to reclaim the lead as both Gideon Schwartz and Nick DiGiacomo notched solo shots for an 11-9 lead through six.
  • Dickinson continued to trail into the last of the eighth when one-out walks to Milligan and Conforti set the stage for an RBI single from Ferris cutting the deficit to 11-10 entering the ninth.
  • Two more visiting home runs in the top of the ninth pushed the gap to 14-10, before Chris Keating closed the door on the Devils.

Inside the Game
  • F&M was off and running quick against Austin Buzza as a walk and two singles led to a 1-0 advantage going to the home-half. Dickinson hit the gas pedal fast against Colin Mackenzie with singles from Posencheg and Ferris along with a walk to Bruno loading the bags with no one out. Bailey and Gartland then each followed with RBI hits to take a 3-1 lead. Conforti was plunked to reload the pillows for Hunt. He would face new arm Anders Snow and come up with a sac fly, before knocks by Shawn Arneja, Milligan and Posencheg stretched it out to 9-1 after one.
  • The Diplomats responded with four in the second thanks in large part to a bases loaded three-run triple for Tanner Wolpert. He was then followed by a sac fly from Matt Hollender to get within 9-5. They then got all the way back an inning later when a walk and error gave Von Zuben the ability to plate two more with a single. Another hit and hit batter loaded things up for Hollender. He faced off with Leckszas who was brought in from the pen and immediately induced a double play to let one in, before the second DC error of the frame plated the tying run (9-9). Dickinson quickly took the lead back in the home-half as with the bags full and one out Conforti notched an RBI walk off Garrett Stowe. He was immediately lifted for Will O'Connor and he gave up a sac fly to Hunt and an RBI single off the bat of Milligan to make it 12-9 heading to the fourth.
  • The scoring just kept on coming in the top of the frame when with one on Ethan Conklin drove one in with a double. He would then cross on a sacrifice fly by Von Zuben trimming the margin to 12-11. In the fifth, F&M used four more hits off of Leckszas to rack up two more runs to jump back in front 13-12 with one down. Glen Cantalupo Jr. would then enter the game and record a fly out and ground out to retire the side. The bottom-half of the frame saw DC draw level again when a Hunt double, a hit batter of Arneja and walk to Posencheg packed the bases for Bruno. He worked a free pass from new pitcher Chet Kosnar to score the tying run.
  • In the sixth, each team earned a few base runners, but no one was able to come in keeping things locked up. At the conclusion of the inning the umpires deemed it was too dark to see bringing the game to a halt.
