WESTMINSTER, Md. - The Dickinson baseball team entered the final week of the regular season knowing that they probably needed to come away with victories in at least three-of-four to give themselves a possibility of making next week's Centennial Conference Tournament. Unfortunately, for the Red and White their quest got off to a shaky start on Tuesday afternoon as the host McDaniel College earned a 10-8 conference win at Preston Field.

Inside the Game
- Both starters Charlie Bien and Luke Wood kept the offenses quiet in the first. Then, in the top of the second, a walk to Kyle Bailey and a hit batter put two on with one gone. Freeman Hunt stroked a single to left driving home Bailey for the 1-0 lead. Bien came out in the home-half looking for a shutdown frame. He would hit a batter, allow a single and walk a batter to fill the cushions for Shane Daly who flew out to left ending the threat.
- Dickinson tried to add onto their lead as singles by John Kumpa and Will Ferris put DC in prime scoring position. However, Josh Markley would bounce into an inning-ending double play.
- McDaniel continued to stare at the 1-0 deficit until the last of the fourth when a lead off triple for DJ Stolba came around to score on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Quinn Dean.
- The pitching between Bien and Wood continued to be strong as nothing separated the sides until the bottom of the sixth when Stolba made it 2-1 with a solo shot to left-center. The Green Terror then used four singles during the ensuing frame to help them push across four more to take a 6-1 edge into the eighth.
- Ferris singled and Markley reached on an error to kick off the DC attack in the eighth. With one down a walk to Luke Gartland loaded the bases for Miguel Reich. He did not face Wood though as Chase Shepard entered the game and allowed back-to-back hits by Reich and Hunt to close the score to 6-3. Aydin Prell was summoned off the bench to hit for Ben Milligan and he collected an RBI groundout. Unfortunately, for Dickinson, the hosts used four hits in the home-half including a two-run single from Ben Davis and a two-run homer by Anthony Cerone to make it 10-4.
- Dickinson attempted to organize a very dramatic comeback in the ninth, as a walk to Ferris and single by Shawn Arneja set the stage for an RBI base hit for Bailey. A free pass to Gartland filled the pillows for DC, before a McDaniel error allowed two to cross. Reich then followed with a sacrifice fly to left, but that was as close as Dickinson could get.
