(Swarthmore, Pa.) - The
Dickinson College women's tennis team suffered a 5-2 loss at
Swarthmore in the semifinals of the Centennial Conference
playoffs. |
The Garnet led 2-1 after doubles.
First-years Alysia Rodgers (Bethesda, Md./Walter
Johnson) and Sarah Lindner (Warrenton,
Va./Wakefield) earned the point for the Devils, winning the
second flight 8-6.
Lindner added the Devils' second point with a 6-1, 6-2 victory
in the sixth singles flight.
Joelle Nitzberg (W. Windsor, N.J./W.Windsor-Plainsboro
S.)captured the second set of her match 6-0, to force a
third. The Garnet clinched the match before the end of that
match.
Sarah Woodward (Scarsdale,
N.Y./Eastchester) battled in the third flight before
falling to Emily Rosenblum (7-5, 7-6).
Swarthmore travels to Johns Hopkins on Sunday to face the Blue
Jays at 11:00 am. The Red Devils finish 13-6 overall.
