(Allentown, Pa.) – Dickinson College senior Allison Jordan (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) threw her second perfect game in less than a week, recording eight strikeouts in a 3-0 decision at Muhlenberg on Thursday afternoon. Jordan went eight innings in the opener as well, recording a remarkable 16 strikeouts, one shy of her own school record.
Muhlenberg used a pair of singles to score one in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Red Devils answered in the top of the seventh. Junior Madison Gerish (Fairfield, N.J./Newark Academy) singled and came in to score on a double to right by sophomore Melissa Osborn (Owings Mills, Md./Kent Island).
The Devils pushed across the winning run in the eighth inning. Sophomore Denise Haines (Greenlane, Pa./St. Pius X) was hit by a pitch to start the inning. Classmate Rachel Jordan (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) pinch-ran, advancing to third before scoring the go ahead run off a single from sister Carly Jordan (Medford, N.J./Shawnee).
Alison Jordan retired three of four batters in the eighth to close out the game, improving to 8-6. Osborn finished 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Jordan returned in game two, retiring 21 straight batters for her second perfect game in five days. She recorded eight strikeouts in the nightcap.
The Red Devils jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning of the nightcap. Senior Alesha Sisco (Effort, Pa./Blair Academy) drove in Kyrie Budnik (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area) with a single and stole second, leading to a throwing error that scored Carly Jordan.
Bunnik singled in pinch-runner Clara Ann Joyce (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) to put the Devils up 3-0 in the sixth inning.
Budnik went 3-for-4 in the nightcap, with a run scored and one RBI.
The Red Devils improved to 14-15 overall and 10-4 in the Centennial Conference. They are scheduled to face Franklin & Marshall on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
