(Haverford, Pa.) – The Dickinson College women's tennis team continued to roll, improving to 12-2 on the season with a thrilling 5-4 win at Haverford on Saturday.
The Devils captured first and third doubles to lead, 2-1. They claimed the fourth, fifth and sixth flights in singles to secure the match and improve to 5-2 in the Centennial Conference.
Madeline Altholtz (Cohasset, Mass./Cohasset) earned two points, winning the sixth singles flight and joining Dominique Hedderich (Walton, Neb.) for an 8-3 win in doubles.
Nora Hajnoczky (Wallingford, Conn./Strath Haven) returned to action, winning the fourth flight, 6-4, 7-6 (7-1). Leigh Oczkowski (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic) won the fifth fight, 6-0, 6-0.
Alysia Rodger (Bethesda, Md./Walter Johnson) and Shannon Lavery (Huntington, W. Va./Huntington) claimed the top doubles flight, 9-7.
Haverford, ranked 16th in the Atlantic South Region, falls to 9-7 overall and 5-2 in the conference.
The Red Devils (12-2, 5-2 CC) host Wilkes University at 4:00 pm on Monday and travel to Swarthmore for a 1:00 pm match next Saturday.
