(Allentown, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's tennis team closed out the regular season schedule with a 6-3 win at Muhlenberg College. The Red Devils improved to 9-8 overall and 8-2 in the Centennial Conference. They will be the #3-seed in next week's conference tournament.
The Red Devils led, 2-1, after doubles behind wins from Alysia Rodgers (Bethesda, Md./Walter Johnson) and Shannon Lavery (Huntington, W. Va./Huntington) in the top flight and Sydney Diamond (Westford, Mass./Westford Academy) and Sarah Cantor (Providence, R.I./The Wheeler School) in the third flight.
The Devils claimed the top three singles flights in straight sets, led by Lavery in the second flight, posting a 6-0, 6-0 decision. Rodgers claimed a 6-1, 6-2 victory at #1-singles and Diamond outlasted Jennifer Goldberg, 6-3, 6-4.
Junior Madeline Altholtz (Cohasset, Mass./Cohasset) earned the Devils' sixth point, winning the fifth flight, 6-0, 6-2.
The Red Devils will face #2-seed Swarthmore College in the Centennial Conference playoffs next weekend.
