(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's tennis team, ranked 20th in the Atlantic South Region, posted a 6-3 victory at Gettysburg on Tuesday afternoon.
The Bullets opened with a pair of wins in doubles, taking the second and third flights, 9-8 and 8-4. The Red Devils answered in singles, winning 5-of-6 matches.
Senior Alysia Rodgers (Bethesda, Md./Walter Johnson) earned points in the top singles flight, winning in straight sets (6-3, 6-2). She claimed the top doubles spot as well, joining Shannon Lavery (Huntington, W.Va./Huntington) for an 8-3 decision.
Lavery was victorious in the second flight, (6-0, 3-6, 6-1). First-year Sydney Diamond (Westford, Mass./Westford Academy) survived a second-set tiebreaker to win the third flight (6-3, 7-6 (7-4).
Ilana Unger (Boulder, Colo./Alexander Dawson) and Madeline Altholtz (Cohasset, Mass./Cohasset) posted straight set wins at four and five to give the Devils their fourth straight win.
The Red Devils have won five of their last six matches as well, improving to 6-7 overall and raised their Centennial Conference record to 5-1 on the year.
The Red Devils return home to face Haverford in a key conference match on Saturday. Opening sets are scheduled for 1:00 pm.
