(Tucson, Ariz.) – The Dickinson softball team dropped a 10-2 decision to Park University, and fell to Alfred 12-1, on Tuesday afternoon, in Tucson.
The Pirates loaded the bases and scored a pair of runs on two hits in the second inning. They added three runs in the third behind a two-run homer by Emilee Vance.
Park had another big inning in the fourth, scoring five runs on four hits. They capitalized on a pair of Red Devil errors and a two-run triple from Taylor Lipps.
The Red Devils pushed across two runs in the bottom of the fifth. Three straight singles led to an RBI for junior Katie Swade (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) as she drove in Megan O'Neill (Old Lyme, Conn./Old Lyme).
Michelle Orden (Hillsdale, N.J./Pascack Valley) singled and scored on an RBI base-hit from Casey Ditzler (Cleona, Pa./Annville-Cleona).
Dickinson was held to five hits but recorded just three strikeouts at the plate.
The Red Devils faced another offensive output on Tuesday, falling to Alfred University, 12-1.
Liz Thompson did the damage for the Saxons, going 2-for-3 with a homerun and five RBIs. Alison Wickwire held the Devils to four hits, recording four strikeouts.
The Red Devils slip to 2-4 on the season. They return to action on Thursday night, facing Alfred once again, following match up with Robert Morris.
