(Bryn Mawr, Pa.) – The Dickinson field hockey team had a second straight, strong offensive performance, posting a 9-0 road win at Bryn Mawr College on Saturday afternoon. The tallied three goals in the opening 10 minutes, taking a 5-0 lead at halftime.
Junior Catherine Perlmutter (Blue Bell, Pa./Germantown Academy) started things off, scoring off an assist from classmate Merritt Davis (Baltimore, Md./Garrison Forest), just 4:03 into the contest.
Sophomore Amber Dey (Flemington, N.J./Moorestown Friends) found the back of the cage, just over a minute later before Davis tallied her second assist of the game, feeding sophomore Emilie Arrix (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) at the 26 minute mark.
First-year Kayla Bendinelli (Princeton, N.J./Montgomery) extended the lead to 5-0 before the break, scoring a pair of goals, exactly two minutes apart. She capitalized on a penalty corner, rattling the cage from the left side of the circle with an assist from senior Alyssa Stillwell (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) with 16:18 on the clock.
Sophomore Kim Monteferante (Putnam Valley, N.Y./Lakeland) picked up an assist as Bendinelli deflected her shot past the Owl goaltender at the 14:18 mark.
Dickinson tacked on four more after the break. First-year Chelsea Kramer (New Vernon, N.J./Morristown Beard) collected a rebound and finished on an empty cage, to extend the lead to 6-0, five minutes into the second half.
Stillwell collected her second helper of the day, feeding senior Caroline Karwel (Fairfax Station, Va./South County Secondary) in the 53rd minute. Davis tallied her third assist, two minutes later, as Katie Sullivan (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) redirected a blast inside the right post.
First-year Kaity Kalady (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) launched a rocket into the upper-right corner, finishing a corner and an assist from Bendinelli to close out the scoring with eight minutes to play.
The Red Devils did not allow a shot, firing off 32 on the other end while holding an 18-1 advantage in penalty corners. Angela Meng finished with 16 saves for Bryn Mawr as the Owls fall to 0-8 overall and 0-5 in the Centennial Conference. First-year goaltender Freddie Bancroft (Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) recorded the shutout.
The Red Devils improve to 8-3 overall and 4-2 in conference play. They return home to face the #15=ranked University of Mary Washington on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 pm.
